About Detachment

Henry Barthes is a gifted substitute teacher who moves from school to school, never staying long enough to form any emotional attachments. He arrives at a dysfunctional public school where the staff is burned out and the students are disillusioned. While trying to maintain his own emotional walls, Henry finds his life intersecting with a troubled runaway and a lonely student, forcing him to confront his own past trauma and the crushing weight of the human condition.
